I spent the last week on Cape Cod, which is one of my favourite places on earth. For those of you who have never been to Cape Cod, it’s a great vacation spot in Massachusetts.
It’s about a 5 hour drive from New York City and well worth the trip. Every time we drive to the Cape, we load up the car with our beach gear, groceries and the dog. The car is jam packed and we listen to our favorite podcasts, praying for no traffic the entire way up.
It has been quite a busy few weeks while I was finishing up the Summer Issue of The Wellness Mercantile so I was very ready to go on vacation and leave my laptop at home.
Cape Cod is a very special place to me because that’s where I got married nearly 3 years ago.My husband and I got married at the Cape Cod Museum of Art and had a lobster bake on the lawn.
It was truly the perfect weekend. The weekend of our wedding we stayed at the beautiful Ocean’s Edge Resort in Brewster. We also had 160+ guests staying at Ocean’s Edge as well.
When I heard that the resort opened up a new spa, I had to make a Spa It Girl visit. Just a little background on Ocean’s Edge… this resort is absolutely stunning with a main mansion and various areas on the property where you can stay. There is also a gym, golf course, bike rentals, beach, restaurants, you name it.
This place is huge and one of the most popular resorts on the Cape.
Across the street from the mansion in an adorable home which is The Beach House Spa. It is exactly like the way it sounds. The minute you walk in, you feel like you are at someone’s beach house.
The decor is beautiful with lots of white walls and blue accents. Everything about this place make you feel like you are at the beach – light and airy. The spa opened up this past May so it’s brand new and they offer their Porch for private spa or wedding parties.
This comfortable, light- lled lounge offers make up and blow dry stations, a dressing area, music system for your favorite playlist, sips and nibbles — and a staff dedicated to your every whim.
I checked in with the receptionist at the front desk and was immediately escorted to the locker room where they had a robe, towel and pink flip flops waiting for me. After I changed into my robe, I was brought to the porch area which is gorgeous.
There are these beautiful couches and chairs. Again, I felt like I was just in someone’s beach house. I felt right at home and helped myself to some water and waited for my massage therapist.
A few short minutes goes by and my massage therapist introduces herself and shows me to the treatment room, where I was to receive The Beach House Massage. The room is very calming with light grey walls.
I get under the sheets and blankets and immediately chill out. The massage therapist was absolutely wonderful. We chatted a bit and shared our love for the Cape.
She was very kind and asked me if there was anything in particular I would like to work on. The massage was the perfect amount of pressure and the massage therapist was very attentive to my needs.
We started facing up and at some point, I even feel asleep. I was so completely relaxed and just melted into the bed. About half way through, I turned over onto my stomach and she worked on the back side of my body.
I truly felt a shift and was able to release tension that I had been holding in my body. Before I new it, my session was finished and I felt incredible.
Not only was I so relaxed but I felt lighter and open, like I had more space in my body. It was relaxing and detoxifying all at once. If you are planning a trip to Cape Cod, you must visit The Beach House Spa.
I am thrilled to have The Beach House Spa at Ocean Edge as My Go-To Spa while I am on Vacation. I will definitely be back to try other services, it’s truly a special experience and I totally recommend it to our Spa it Girl readers, followers who need a break from the City.
