I have been wanting to check out Chillhouse ever since they opened their doors. The swoon worthy Instagram photos make this place look like the perfect spot to chill out in NYC and it absolutely is. I knew I was in for a treat.
When you first walk in, it looks like a beautiful cafe with tables and chairs. The cafe was filled with such positive energy – people coming in and out to grab a drink and snack. The tables were full with girls chatting, laptops open and hanging out.
The cafe menu is spot on offering signature blends using adaptogens and superfoods such as goji, cacao and butterfly pea. There are also cafe staples such as matcha and turmeric lattes.
And of course, the bites such as avocado toast, vegan yogurt parfaits and all the baked goods. Chillhouse is the perfect place to hang day or night. They also serve wine, beer and cocktails. All in one, you can have a great glass of wine, bite to eat, massage and manicure. It’s perfect.
I checked in for my massage at the cafe and waited for a few minutes. They asked me if there is anything specifically I would like to work on and then I was introduced to my massage therapist Demetri.
We walked through the cafe, passing the manicure stations (next time!) and then a beautiful waiting area with couches and water.
The entire space is designed beautifully. I kept looking around at all the details. The wallpaper, plants, colors – everything was carefully curated. I just felt completed at ease.
I had a glass of water and then we went to the massage room. Demetri was very professional yet chill and relaxed. We talked about stress and how to calm the body and heal the mind especially during times of transition.
It was a very balanced session. He used oils which I absolutely love. And the music! The music was so relaxing, I felt like I was really able to zone out. He first worked on my back and then the front of my body.
The hour completely flew by. I absolutely loved my session and plan to come back to Chillhouse. This is such a special space in New York City, not like any other spa. Treat yourself and spend an afternoon at Chillhouse being a Spa it Girl.
