HigherDOSE have a brand new Winter pop up on the 3rd floor of SIXTY Hotel LES and it’s running from now till April 15.
It’s -3 degrees in New York City so the perfect timing for being a Spa it Girl at HigherDOSE.
NYC contributor Genevieve Wollenbecker went along to the brand new HigherDOSE pop up at SIXTY Hotel Les for a HigherDOSE Infrared Body Wrap, CRYO Facial and LED Light Mask and here is the low down:
I arrived at the third floor of the SIXTY Hotel in LES and stepped into the Higher DOSE pop-up spa not knowing what to expect.
As a first timer to infrared treatment, I was intrigued by the buzz and eager to replace a workout with sitting pleasantly in a cocoon after work.
I received a very friendly, knowledgeable welcome from the women of Higher Dose Spa and was swiftly guided into one of their new HD Sauna Wraps.
If you’ve ever laid out on the sand during a hot summer’s day, the infrared wrap will feel like a familiar friend.
Your body feels touched by the rays of a very delightful sun that gradually warms your tissue several inches deep.
Wrapped up in a comfortable, weighted blanket, you feel like you’re in a cozy cocoon that is simultaneously helping you shed toxins, burn calories and feel totally relaxed. I even fell asleep a few times.
Every time I woke up I saw the futuristic blinking red and blue lights of the LED light mask. From what I can tell, you are either into this treatment or not.
I like its futuristic disco vibe and love its benefits: increased circulation, kill acne bacteria, decrease inflammation and improve skin tone.
In this New York winter with its dry central heating and quick temperature changes, I will take whatever facial nourishment I can get.
To balance out the heat from the wrap, I finished up my spa stint with a mini, soothing cryo facial. This refreshing deep-freeze treatment is just the thing if you’re trying to stay away from other more aggressive treatments and peels.
My skin felt soothed, slightly tightened and glowed by the end of the five minute session. I highly recommend this if your skin feels puffy or you’re experiencing winter-induced inflammation.
By the end of my quick visit with Higher Dose I feel—down to practically the bone—relaxed and rested.
If you’re looking for a relaxing way to feel lighter, brighter and de-puffed, definitely try at least one but hopefully all three of these stellar treatments from the ladies at Higher Dose.
Sessions are available in the DOSE Lounge Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Reservations can be made on the HigherDOSE website.
