Edible Coconut Bowls: it’s the latest instagram food trend from LA thanks to Amazebowls who create the prettiest Acai Coconut Bowls we have ever seen.
If you want to create your own pretty edible acas coconut bowls this weekend here is how:
Things you will need
blender or Vitamix
knife
cutting board
serving bowls or mature coconuts (so you can break in half)
soup spoons or tablespoons
Step 1: How to prepare the ACAI BASE
1 frozen acai pack
1/2 cup frozen blueberries
1/4 cup frozen pineapple
1 banana
1/2 cup almond milk
1 tsp agave
Use a blender to combine the ingredients into a smooth, homogenous mixture. It may be a little stiff and difficult to blend at first but just continue to blend it around till it’s fairly smooth.
Step 2: Toppings (you choose)
bananas, diced
kiwi, diced
strawberries, diced
blueberries, whole
granola
almond butter
cacao nibs
chia seeds
coconut shavings
edible flowers

Step 3: How to Prepare the Base? To serve, spoon the desired amount of acai base into a chilled bowl or frozen coconut half.
Step 3: How to Present your Toppings?
It’s a bit like preparing for Tacos….display each topping in its own bowl with a serving spoon and then put them in a row so it’s easy to spoon & flow. Present the granola first, fresh fruit next and the rest of the topping options to follow. Edible flowers should appear last.
Instagram photo tip: To make the bowls extra pretty and Instagrammable – separate the colours of your ingredients so you can create that rainbow effect that highlights the different textures.
Invite your gorgeous family or friends over so they can help make their own creation then get someone else to take the photo of you all holding up your Acai Coconut Bowls then hash tag #SPAITGIRL and tag @Spaitgirl so we can see your pretty edible coconut bowl weekend inspirations.

How to prepare your COCONUT SERVING BOWLS
DRAIN
Puncture a small hole into the coconut eye and drain coconut juice into a container.
CRACK
Once all the juice is drained, hold coconut in the palm of your hand and use the blunt side of a heavy kitchen knife. Start tapping firmly as you rotate the coconut around. Continue to tap and rotate until you see a crack. After a few rotations, the coconut should break open into two equal halves.
FREEZE
Store your coconut bowl in the freezer while you prepare the base. This will keep your acai bowl colder and thicker a little longer.
If you don’t have access to mature coconut bowls that’s ok you can still use pretty coloured bowls.
