Yvette Le Blowitz, Founder of Spa it Girl tried a signature Barre Body class at the Barre Body Studio in Flinders Lane, Melbourne {Australia} and loved it so much she wanted to find out more about the #Creator and #GIRLBOSS behind Barre Body Emma Semibold so you could be inspired and feel good too.

Emma Seibold is a certified yoga teacher, STOTT pilates certified instructor and holistic health & wellness coach.

She has trained with schools in New York, India, Sydney, Melbourne and Byron Bay. After a 10 year career in marketing, in 2009 Emma left the corporate world and founded the cult juice detox program – Urban Remedy Cleanse which continues to grow and thrive.

In January 2015, Emma and husband Matt welcomed their second child to the world, baby daughter Isla Rose, a precious little sister for big brother Xavier.

Having had a strong and dedicated ashtanga yoga practice for 8 years, Emma took a gentle approach to regain her pre-baby body by adding barre conditioning work to her yoga practice.

Seeing a phenomenal change in the tone and shape of her muscles, she created Barre Body to share the technique with others looking for a strong, flowing, fun and highly effective work out.

Emma has enormous passion for all things relating to health and wellness and strives to lead a balanced life; eating well, living well, loving well and exercising well and with that in mind here is our:

Spa it Girl Exclusive Interview with Emma Seibold Creator of Barre Body:

What Inspired you to open not one but eight Barre Body Studio’s in Australia? We opened the first studio six months (to the day) after Xavier was born. I had been practicing barre at home as part of my yoga practice and was utterly amazed at how effective it was in shaping and toning my body. I knew that if I loved it, so would so many other women. And that’s exactly what happened. We opened the first studio and it was a huge success and in the past 5 years we have opened seven more in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane with more on the way. I absolutely love it and continued to be energized and inspired by the brand, the team, the business and the work out.

How do you personally keep your balance between being the Creator of Barre Body – #GIRLBOSS – a Mum and everything else in your life that you do? I try (as much as humanly possible) to be present in each moment. When I am with my kids, I am a mum. When I am with my team, I am a leader. When I am with my husband at home, I am a lover. When I am teaching a class, I am a facilitator. When I am with my friends, I am a friend. It’s a juggle at times, but being present works amazingly well.

As a dedicated Yogi do you still make time to meditate? And practice yoga? Yes absolutely, almost daily. Meditation is now a constant for me. For years it was something I talked about and always aspired to be a dedicated meditator, but now it is just part of me and what I do. Yoga is much the same. I don’t practice every day, but I do get on my mat most days and practice and intuitive flow. Or I go to a class when I can.

What is one thing you do every day when you wake up? Practice gratitude. Always.

We see you love visiting Spa Destinations as much as our Founder, Yvette Le Blowitz can you tell us what inspired you to host The Luxury Mini Retreat on September 1-3rd at The Byron at Bryon? I’ve been living in Byron Bay for the past year and SO many Barre Body clients have been asking me to host a retreat there. My husband and I go to the Byron at Byron often and love it, so it was the natural choice. It’s a beautiful five star resort in the most beautiful rainforest setting right next to the beach. It will be a lovely long weekend mini-break with the perfect blend of relaxation, rest, fitness and food.

What’s your Favourite Spa Treatment to have? Always a massage! I love love love them. I especially love it when there is a plunge pool or spa that I can use before or after the treatment. That’s why I love The Byron at Byron so much as well as a little secret in my home town of Mullumbimby (20 mins north west of Byron), called Kiva Spa, which is a collection of outdoor spa pools and saunas. It’s heaven.

As a #GIRLBOSS do you have any tips for staying on top of everything? Are you a true believer in goals setting and to do lists? Think, strategise, plan (make action lists) and execute.

THINK: The first step is to know what you want to achieve.

STRATEGISE: Then you need to develop a strategy. How will you get there.

PLAN: List out the actions and steps you will need to take to achieve what you need to.

EXECUTE: Actually DO the things on your to do list. Today, not tomorrow.

Do you think it’s still important to get your sleep? Do you have any go-to tips to help manage stress? It is absolutely essential. I try to get 7-8 hours sleep per night. I go to bed early just so I can do that and still wake up at 5am. Sleep is probably one of the most important tools for managing stress. One simply can’t function without adequate sleep and one functions so much better with the optimum amount of sleep.

Does there come a point when you think you can’t do it all and you have to pick and choose what is right for you? Do you think it’s ok to say no? Yes! I pick and choose and say no all the time. It’s really important to focus your energies on the things you love the most and the things that will yield the greatest results.

We see on your website at barrebody.com.au you have a on-line studio what inspired you to offer Barre Body Workouts at home so everyone could do them? We have had a free online studio since we opened our first Barre Body studio five years ago. It was a labour of love and we started getting more and more requests for more videos and longer videos for people who couldn’t visit the studios. Now that I live away from the studios I also wanted more workouts to do from home myself. And so the premium version of Barre Body online was born and we have so many members already! It’s doing amazingly well. We’d love SpaItGirl readers to take a look at www.barrebody.com.au/online

What’s Your Favourite Go To Mantra? Always act with love, grace and dignity.

What’s your favourite Barre Body class to teach?
Definitely our signature class, Barre Body because I love incorporating vinyasa flows into my classes.

What should we expect from your classes? A really fun and flowing class with a strong focus on legs and glutes.

What’s next for Barre Body? Opening more Studios? Retreats or focusing inwards and being content with BarreBody how it is today? I don’t think my husband (Matt) and I will ever want to stop growing. We just love it so much. We have plans in 2017 for more Barre Body studios, expansion of our Teacher Training programs, further growth and development of Barre Body Online as well as a completely new concept studio in Byron Bay, called The Flow. It’s my passion project and it will be very, very special.
