Walking into quite possibly one of the most emblematic luxury hotels in the world, the Tivoli Avenida Liberdade, I felt royal. As I entered the Anantara SPA, I ventured down an exotic pathway to holistic wellbeing in a paradise of healing sensuality.
This remarkably exquisite sanctuary in the heart of the beautiful Avenida Liberdade combines ancient far-eastern therapies with indigenous Portuguese rituals, performed within six treatment rooms catering to both individuals and couples.
Each experience is complemented with Biologique Recherche, the French skincare line used by the likes of Madonna, Sharon Stone, Brad Pitt and the Olsen twins. Their formulations feature organic, highly active ingredients comprised of a high concentration of botanical, marine and biological extracts.

I had the pleasure of receiving the Anantara Signature Massage, a 90-minute luxury experience infusing a blend of organic essential oils, combined with purpose-designed movements, stimulating circulation and promoting deep relaxation, while restoring the flow of energy along the meridian lines.
My massage therapist gave me a deep treatment using a combination of strokes and acupressure techniques, and the specially blended signature oil created with the intention for my relaxation.
Before and after my massage, I found myself blissfully breathing in my personal sauna, cherishing this special time to myself in the middle of the city.
