How to Create the Life You Have Been Dreaming of
Brita Fernandez Schmidt has spent 25 years championing women’s rights right across the world, nurturing her own fierce and inspiring others to do the same. Brita currently serves as the Executive Director of Women for Women International – UK and is the Senior Vice President for Europe and External Relations globally.
She co-founded Women for Women International in Germany. Brita is also the Chair of the Network Gender Action for Peace and Security and Chief Adviser to Fair Share. Previously she was the Programmes & Policy Director at Womankind Worldwide and she started her career as Policy Officer at the European Women’s Lobby.
Every day Brita is grateful for her vibrant and inspiring community of humans that show her that change is possible.
Brita Fernandez Schmidt is the Author of Fears to Fierce and through a combination of guidance, storytelling and practical tools, will inspire you to realise your purpose and potential, ignite your fierce and create the life you have been dreaming of.
One of the things, Brita talks about in her Fears to Fierce book is her belief that we are all activists. Being an activist is believing that your voice matters and using your voice.
That has been a big part of her journey and Brita shares that is why owning my power has been so important to me, because I know it is a precondition for using my voice and creating the change I want to see.
Being an activist for Brita is also an intrinsically communal activity. Brita shares once you know what you are passionate about, you will meet others who share your passion, and you will join together. Everything she has done has been as part of a community.
Whether it is with my colleagues at Women for Women International or my friends, or my team at Rider who published my book, I thrive when I connect and work as apart of a team. Brita believes we all do and finding our tribe is key.
