Just when you thought the Little Mermaid was only a fairy tale think again Hotel Del Coronado in San Diego is now offering a 45-minute mermaid fitness class where participants get to wear a shimmery fin made of bathing suit material and do a full-body workout in the shallow end and yep it’s only suitable for adults so sorry no kids.
Veronica Rohan a fitness instructor at the hotel developed the workout which is designed to activate your abs, quads, and gluten more than swimming laps in your normal bathing suit would do. You still get to swim laps but in your shimmery mermaid fin bathing suit by wearing this it really get’s your heart rate up. I also include standing stationary movements like squats and arm exercises with a beach ball.
Denmark is now the next country in the world to offer the Mermaid Fitness Classes but considering the little mermaid fairy tale was by Danish author Hans Christian Andersen and in Copenhagen they have a statue of the little mermaid on a rock which is one of their famous tourist attractions I guess it’s only natural.
