With the Holiday Season nearly here we asked Yvette Le Blowitz, founder of Spa it Girl to share her In-Flight Skincare Tips:
I drink plenty of water:
When you are flying the humidity-free air in a plain cabin dehydrates your skin so it’s really important to drink plenty of water and to stay welly hydrated. I make sure that I am well hydrated before my flight, and during my flight I drink plenty of water and in-flight I don’t drink coffee or alcohol, when I land at the other end I also keep drinking plenty of water to so I am well hydrated.
I travel with my Go-To Skincare Products:
In-Flight I use Sodashi Calming Rose Face Mist I find it’s really great for hydrating my skin, plus it makes me feel really Calm within. I pour this product from my 100ml bottle into a travel friendly spray bottle and using it in-flight really does wonders for my skin & in-flight wellbeing.
To keep my lips from drying out I use Lanolins 101 Ointment it’s the only product I have found that actually keeps my lips hydrated when flying, it really helps lock the moisture in.
I always carry with me also a travel size face moisturiser, and eye cream my brands can vary however I always make sure they are natural, chemical free and vegan friendly.
Sitting in a window seat might sound nice with the view and all, but the higher altitude mixed with the tiny cabin windows magnifies the detrimental UV rays from the sun, I don’t have to worry about this to much as my flights are normally during the night but my No.1 tip is make sure you were sunscreen or better still close the window bling when in-flight to save your skin from the harmful UV rays beaming in.
I like to MOVE IT:
I like to get out of my chair and move around, I find it’s a great way to get the circulation going, and that it helps reduce puffiness in your face and body.
I go Make-Up Free:
I never fly wearing make up other than a pop of lipstick colour. Before I fly I do my full skincare routine which is a double cleanse, exfoliate, I pop on a face mask for hydration, then after that a facial oil, with an eye cream and my lanolin lips.
I try to get my Beauty Sleep:
This can be a bit of a challenge but I do my best to listen to calming relaxing music and I tend to meditate in-flight to relax my body, mind, I have a nice cup of tea, read a feel good book and try to do my best to get as much sleep as I can sometimes it’s not always possible, but I do believe the more Beauty Sleep during the flight you can get the better.
When I touch down after my flight I always make sure I keep drinking plenty of water, and I do my skincare routine before I go to bed.
