Spa it Girl caught up exclusively with the Founder of WMN Space Paula Mallis who is a mother, doula, yoga teacher, meditation guide and facilitator of women circles living in Venice, California.
Paula has been able to combine her personal experience as a mother with her extensive training in yoga and meditation to become a guide and facilitator and her deepest passion is supporting and coaching women as they make their journey into motherhood and so in January 2017, Paula opened WMN, a conscious space for women to gather.
The intention of WMN Space is to support women where ever they are on their own journey and healing modalities that include women’s health, body work, therapy, spiritual counselling, workshops and women’s gatherings and as you can imagine our very own Founder of Spa it Girl, Yvette Le Blowitz had to find out more about WMN Space and the inspiring Woman who made this inspiring and empowering Women’s Space happen.
Meet Paul Mallis, Founder of WMN Space:
What is WMN Space? “WMN SPACE is a conscious space for women to gather in service to their own healing.” WMN SPACE offers classes workshops events and one on one healing sessions.
What Inspired you to create WMN Space? I had been leading women’s circles and teaching classes out of my home for the past almost 4 years. I felt called to take the work I was doing in my living room out into the world.
What do you love most about being the Founder of WMN Space? WMN SPACE has been a huge “birth” for me. I love supporting the vision in all it’s aspects and excited what form the future will take as it continues to grow and evolve.
Do you think even though we all have Social Media to connect with it’s still important to get together face to face as and in our Communities? Gathering together in person creates a magic and support that cannot be achieved over social media. Now is the time to gather together in person and in community as it’s important now than ever. As technically has served in many ways in reconnecting or connecting us when I experience women meeting in person after only knowing each other by their Instagram name long lasting relationships form and a deeper connection is made.

Can you explain what Doula is? Doula means servant to a woman. A Doula (birth and postpartum) supports a woman during pregnancy birth motherhood. I believe being a Doula is supporting a woman where ever she is on her journey. I have held space for women during abortion, miscarriage, conception, pregnancy, birth and motherhood even for women who are called to “birth” businesses, projects, relationships. I believe as women we all have the capacity to birth and when I am supporting a woman I am in the role of a Doula.
Have you always been Spiritual? or do you feel it was something you fell into? or somehow connected to? Yes….Always! I was raised in a religious home which I never related to but always had a connection to a higher power. I have always been a seeker, but it wasn’t until 9 years ago that I began to have an inner experience of Spirituality much different than what I had been exposed to as a child.
What inspired you to take your Spirituality to the next level and train in Spiritual Psychology? As I mentioned I have always been a seeker and I wanted to be a therapist when I was younger but had not attended college. When I came across the program that offered certification in Spiritual Psychology I knew I had to partake. It’s a program that merges therapy practices with spiritual teachings the perfect combination per my interest.
You always here the terms Body, Mind and Spirit do you think it’s three separate things or all combined as one? I believe you can break the three down or separate them to assist in someone’s process towards healing. Aligning and merging mind, body and spirit is to be at one with oneself.
Do you have any tips on girls wanting to live their Dream but just not sure how to? Setting intentions as if your dream has already come true from a heart centered place and allow for your intentions to manifest for the highest good of all concerned. Write them out in present tense and let go of any expectations on how and when it will manifest.

When it comes to overcoming the lows, and healing from past do you have any tips for this? My teachers would remind us that…Healing is a process not an event. We have to practice being loving and kind with ourselves. We are all on our own unique journey’s to self discovery and unfolding at our own divine timing.
If someone doesn’t know what their calling is? or what their purpose is on life? do you have suggestions of some Spiritual Practices they could do to help make this much more clearer to them? Setting intentions expressing what it would feel like to answer the call or be on purpose that will support receiving an inner knowing or sign. Getting quite meditating to receive the answers. We cannot force this we have to practice allowing the answer to come in it’s own timing. Connecting with someone as your “guide” that will support you through the process.
In the Spiritual Social Media World you hear you can Manifest your Dreams if you put it out there to the Universe? Is there a certain you actually do this? Again I can’t say enough about setting intentions. The misunderstanding or delusion around “manifesting” is that if we ask and wish and sing it and chant it “IT” will come. Sometimes what we are wanting in life is not for our highest good. The practice of setting intentions especially around the New Moon and the practice of releasing around the Full Moon supports the “letting go” of the things that are blocking you or limiting beliefs that are keeping your intentions to manifest. When we come from an authentic heart felt place while we are setting intentions from this place within we open ourselves, our Higher Self, to an authentic intention to manifest versus one from our ego. We have to be willing to let go of what no longer serve us to manifest what is truly for our highest good.
How do you personally like to Keep Healthy and well within? I partake in a Moon Juice smoothie every morning that the Moon crew makes me called the “Paula Special” smoothie includes cacao, banana, coconut butter, almond milk, blue adaptogen protein powder and ashwaganda. I love True Botanicals skin care line and Micro current Facials with Sadie Adams from Take Care Spa . I practice mindful integrated pilates twice a week at Groundspace for Movement and Meditation along with a daily meditation practice. And of course I dive into classes and workshops at WMN SPACE that I am not facilitating.

What are your own Daily Spiritual Practices and Rituals? Meditation, breath work, chant mantras and sage for clearing space.
If someone was wanting to feel more Spiritually Connected what do you think they could do? Start with short meditation focusing on your breath. Be open and curious.
If someone is a busy mother and they feel like they are always on the run is there a Spiritual Practice or Technique they could do to make them feel at peace within? Meditating in the school parking lot after drop off totally counts. PAUSE, take a breath. When my daughter was a baby I was practice mindfulness, come into the silence and pause during at least one breastfeeding session. Don’t feel guilty for asking for help. As mother’s when we take care of our selves first we can better serve our children and family.
Our Founder, Yvette Le Blowitz believes that there is an abundance for everyone and we should all work together and love and support each other as girls and women, what do you think? We are better together. No one should have to travel their journey alone. We learn, inspire and uplift when we gather with intention and practice non judgmental observation. We are all spiritual beings having a human experience why should we say only a few are chosen for this path. It’s available to everyone you just have to be open and tape into the worthiness that you all deserve it.
Living in these Social Media Times how many numbers, followers, likes can often be what sometimes people focus on however as a World Wide Wellness Girl, Woman Empowering Community what do you think we should be really focussing on? Come together in person, sit with one another, share your stories, listen with your hearts be open to a deeper experiences with each other, be willing to let go of the compare and despair consciousness.
Can you suggest any Spiritual Books? or Podcast, or Ted Talks to watch to help us learn more about becoming a Better Version of ourselves? Jules Blaine Davis Ted Talks, Brene Brown, Marianne Williamson Carolyn Myss, Dr christina northrop These women inspire me on my journey.
What do you Love Most? My Daughter, family and closest friends and community.
