M N D F L, pronounced “mindful,” is a new Manhattan studio in NYC that offers so many different types of guided mediation classes from Vedic, Zen, Jewish, Vipassana, Kundalini, Tibetan, Shambhalam that go for 30 and 45-minute and only cost $15 per drop in class this beautiful chic mediation studio space.
The founders of MNDFL are Ellie Burrows a former film industry exec-turned-spiritual blogger and Buddhist teacher and The Buddha Walks Into A Bar author and Lodro Rinser who dreamed up the idea for MNDFL over tea one day. Both Ellie and Lodro asked why there wasn’t a modern, non-religious drop-in studio where they could explore traditional meditation techniques in a contemporary way and based on that mutual thinking they created M N D F L to help improve every day New Yorkers life and wellbeing.
The MNDFL space has a modern-but-calming studio feel with the use of natural materials, exposed brick, and walls of plants. They offer a complimentary tea section to encourage everyone to linger and commune before and after class, a retail section with groceries, apparel, and a space for teachers to sell their own favourite meditation books.
Ellie Burrows vision was that she wanted to help New Yorkers feel good, that was her ultimate goal as we live in a chaotic city. Both Lodro and I wanted to provide a dedicated space for people to sit quietly that’s not [their] home or office, so that they can reset and reflect. Everything we built is all for that singular goal: creating a space to breathe.
