How to make your SKIN GLOW

I believe Healthy SKIN starts within….. yes it helps to use natural skincare products on your skin each day, along with visiting the Day Spa for a Deep Cleansing Hydrating Facial Mask.  However if you really want clear, glowing skin then try adding these fresh ingredients into your daily life to help improve the way your skin looks and feels:

Strawberries:
A cup of Strawberries has loads of vitamin C, which is an essential in skin health. Vitamin C actually boosts the production of collagen fibres in the skin that keep it smooth, firm and clear.

Avocado:
Packed with essential fatty acids, vitamin E and antioxidants, avocados are amazing for great skin. The ‘good fats’ are great for the health and hydration of cell membranes. These membranes are the gate keeper of your skin cells – they let the good stuff in and keeping the toxins out. Try a whole avocado in a salad or with a can of lemon tuna for a quick office lunch.

Soy beans:
Help to assist in fine lines and the firmness of the skin. Soy beans are also known to reduce the risk of ovarian cancer and diabetes.

Pumpkin seeds:
Also known as pepitas, these are an almost undiscovered beauty superfood. Packed with vitamin E, zinc and magnesium, these tiny seeds keep your skin glowing. They promote a strong regeneration of skin cells and are filled with protein, making them a perfect mid-morning snack. They are a perfect addition to trail mix, or just as a snack in between meals and meetings.

Pumpkin:

The orange colour of pumpkin comes from carotenoids – wrinkle-fighting plant pigments that help neutralise free radicals in the skin. Pumpkin is also filled with vitamin A, C and E, making it a perfect vegetable to treat your skin. Enjoy it roasted, or make a raw pumpkin pie as a healthy dessert.

Carrots:
Easily accessible and vital for skin health, carrots are filled with beta carotene – a pre-cursor for vitamin A, which normalises skin functions to correct any skin conditions. As well as snacking on fresh carrots, try juicing one with an apple and a bit of mint for a refreshing replacement to a mid-morning latte.

Salmon:
This delicious fish is filled with omega-3 fatty acids which are essential for skin health. Omega-3 fatty acids have been shown to help reduce inflammation and the signs of ageing in the body and on the skin. I love oven backed fresh salmon sprinkle some lemon juice on it pop it on baking paper and pop and pop in the oven while you sit back and relax waiting for it to cook.

Blueberries:

I love blueberries they are one of my favourite snack for great skin. Filled with antioxidants, and essential vitamins and minerals, blueberries are essential in healing any radical damage our skin has suffered.
skintips

Flax seed oil:

While it’s not technically a food, it will perfectly complement any diet – especially if skin health is what you are after. The benefits of flax seed oil come from its very high amount of omega-3 fatty acids. Flax seed oil can aid in decreasing the body’s inflammation levels and help the body restore its original state. Try using a spoonful every day and add it to anything Including oats, smoothies, salads and even raw desserts and sweets.

Green tea:

Again, not a food, but a skin health essential. Green tea is filled with polyphenols – inflammation-fighting antioxidants and vitamins. It is also a perfect way to calm down and relax after a long day. Keeping ourselves and our body relaxed is essential in lowering stress, therefore helping to keep your complexion calm and blemish-free.
