Are you obsessed with weighing yourself daily? Is it the first thing you do when you wake up in the Morning? If it is then here are 4 reasons why you really should ditch your daily weigh-ins:

1. Our weight changes constantly; fluctuations occur in the number on the scale every day. When you spend too much time worrying about how you’ve changed from one weigh-in to the next it can really start to bring you down and make you feel bad about yourself.  It can also make you feel depressed and put you in a bad morning for the rest of the day.

2. When you exercise, you’re building metabolism-boosting muscle, which means that while you’re burning fat you may also be surprisingly heavier on the scale as because you are gaining muscle weight.  This is another good reason why you should stop obsessing about what number you are on the scales.

3. There are other reasons to be healthy other than weight loss like being happier and healthier, reducing your risk of heart disease, living longer.

4. Your weight doesn’t tell you everything even when calculated to your BMI score. Body fat percentage is more accurate than BMI since it calculates how much of your body is fat compared to muscle.  The number on the scale doesn’t show you how good you feel inside or how beautiful you truly are.

Instead of weighing yourself daily try maybe once every four weeks if you really feel like you have to by doing this it will help take the pressure of you having to reach your goal weight asap and it will help you focus on all the other benefits of living a Healthy Active Lifestyle.  Try just using a tape measurement instead if you really want to know if you are going up or down in size around your waist line.
