DENMARK has been Voted the Happiest Country in the World for 2016.
But with 17-hours-of-darkness-a-day during Winter how is possible?

Think Hygge (pronounced “hoo-gah”) meaning “cosiness” the Danish philosophy is all about being kind to yourself, self love and indulging just a little rather than going without a certain food type or drink or activity that could then emotionally make you feel deprived and not living your Best Happiest Life.

The Danes choose not to beat themselves up when they indulge in things like Eating Chocolate or Having a Danish Pastry, instead they appreciate the very special indulgent moment and enjoy the smaller things like sitting round a table with friends and family chatting without their mobile phones or drinking a hot mug of tea by candlelight.

If you want to live your Happiest Danish Hygge Life (even if you live in 30+ degrees Summer Heat) here is how:

Lite some Candles or an open fire
Use Sheepskin rugs
Wear Wool socks
Relax in your Armchair
Eat Danish pastries
Have Dinner with friends
Cycle
Turning your phone off
Drink Hot drinks (preferably served from a china set)
Watching a boxset under a duvet
